Daniel R. Edgcumbe, PhD

Daniel completed a BSc (Hons) in Psychology at the University of Plymouth. His final year project involved the investigation of the neural substrates of visual perception, in response to varying temporal and spatial frequencies, with functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS). He then completed his MSc in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience at Goldsmiths College, University of London. During this MSc he examined the effects of anodal transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) over the human angular gyri on intentional binding. He then went on to complete his PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of East London where his project involved the examination of the neural substrates of judgement and decision-making (from a dual-process framework perspective) with various tDCS parameters and montages. Following the completion of his PhD Daniel has worked as lecturer in psychology and neuroscience at Newman University, Birmingham (2018-2021) then Coventry University, Coventry (2021-present).

Daniel is an advocate of Science Diplomacy, Open Science and Citizen Science.
